RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, said the army gives a hand to all expected to have finally taken its decision to amend its violent insurgency renounce ways,
“We welcome those who have decided to renounce violence and lay down arms. It’s very encouraging that the insurgents gradually came back into the national mainstream,” said COAS during a visit to Southern Command Headquarters Quetta.
All support will be rendered to rehabilitate them so they can live a peaceful and productive life, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, the COAS said the potential of Baluchistan as a regional center for energy and trade only takes a collective civil-military approach to security and development.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), he was given a detailed report on the overall security and law and order situation in Balochistan at headquarters.
“Both civil and military officials including the Chief Secretary, Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and Director General of Inter Services Intelligence were present at the brief”. ISPR said.
The forum was informed that the security situation in Balochistan has improved with a sharp decline in the crime rate.
“It is because of success in all fields and the FC and police operations against terrorists, criminals and those involved in sectarian violence directed” said the statement.
After the briefing, General Raheel greeted FC and other law enforcement agencies to bring significant improvement in the law and order situation in the province.
“The army chief assured full support to the provincial government and the people of Balochistan in their quest for lasting peace, development and prosperity.
