ISLAMABAD: The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the rigid stance of India is the main obstacle to the peaceful settlement of the protracted Kashmir dispute.
Syed Ali Gilani said in a statement in Srinagar that the unresolved Kashmir dispute was the cause of the tension between Pakistan and India and could lead to another war. He said the bold stance of Pakistan on Kashmir and India had enervated due to this reason New Delhi had broken out on the border situation to unleash his anger.
He urged the Indian rulers to recognize the realities on the Kashmir conflict and take steps towards its settlement for the improvement of the people of India as well as the inhabitants of the whole region of South Asia. Syed Ali Gilani said that India says is the world’s largest democracy, but did not respect the democratic rights of the Kashmiri people.
He said the Kashmiri people had been struggling to secure their birthright to self-determination for the last several decades, but India and its puppet regime in the territory were suppressing through use of brute force.
