MQM seeks resignations approval after talks collapse

ISLAMABAD: With reservations undirected, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday suspended its negotiations with the government and demanded the government to immediately accept the resignation.

MQM negotiators led by Dr. Farooq Sattar held a press conference in the early morning hours today after a lengthy meeting at Parliament Lodges.

MMA leaders called non-serious approach of the government responsible for the failure of the talks, saying no relief committee was formed despite the lapse of even 20 days.

Dr. Farooq Sattar said, “MQM is being marginalized under the mantle of the operation of Karachi as the political activities of the party and welfare are subject to a ban without warning.”

He continued the party donation vouchers are considered suspicious.

Dr. Farooq Sattar also complained about the ban on live addresses of party chief Altaf Hussain in national media.

Towards the end of the press conference, he announced that back to Karachi aboard the first available flight.
