ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Pakistan should not become a party in Saudi led strikes in Yemen.
In an exclusive chat with Samaa Sunday, Khan said the Pakistanis living in Yemen could be at risk if we become a party to the conflict in Yemen.
“We have suffered enough to join the war of others. We have 50, 000 dead Pakistanis to join the US war and sending our troops into Waziristan,” he said.
“I regret to say that we had been putting another war for dollars. As a result, this country paid a high price and you all know that,” he said. “We are still suffering the consequences of previous wars.”
“We should not articulate this war. Iran is our neighbor and Saudi Arabia is a friend. We must try to negotiate a ceasefire”.
Khan also welcomed fr win the first seat of his party in Azad Kashmir.
According to unofficial results, PTI candidate Barrister Sultan has 15, 691 votes against the PPP Chaudhry Ashraf who managed to get 12, 811 votes.
“We have two windows with a ball as PML-N candidate withdrew its support of the PPP,” he said.
The PTI chief hopes his party also won the next by-election in NA-246, Karachi.
To a question, he praised the role played by Samaa to run a special message for the safe evacuation of Pakistanis stranded in Yemen. “I congratulate you for your efforts in this direction,” added Khan.
